Het is niet dat het per se zo uitgesproken wordt door onze ouders en verzorgers. Na de middelbare school kies je een mbo-, hbo- of universiteitsopleiding. Met het papiertje op zak zoek je een baan. Dat je een baan neemt onder je opleidingsniveau? Of dat je beslist om vier keer in je leven voor langere tijd te stoppen met werken in plaats van te wachten tot je 67ste? <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:1em 0;font-size:18px;line-height:1.5em;font-family:Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5;margin:0em\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:1em 0;font-size:18px;line-height:1.5em;font-family:Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5;margin:0em\">Als we afwijken van deze onuitgesproken verwachting van het leven voelen we \u00f3f enorme schaamte, \u00f3f een trots gevoel dat we anders zijn. Zoals de ondernemer die zonder diploma&#8217;s toch een miljoenenbedrijf heeft opgezet. Die heeft een nieuw verhaal gecre\u00eberd dat het ondanks alles toch is geslaagd. Dit verhaal valt zo op, omdat het zo afwijkt van de rode draad. Zij is transseksueel. Ze zit op de bank bij de psychiater. Ze kondigt aan dat ze wil stoppen met hormonen slikken. Niet om de transitie terug te draaien. Maar om te stoppen met de &#8216;blockers&#8217; die zorgen dat haar stem niet te laag wordt en haar ballen niet te groot worden. Alles wat mannen niet aantrekkelijk vinden zeg maar. Ze wil niet meer zijn wat mannen aantrekkelijk vinden in een vrouw. Ze ziet haar transformatie naar vrouwelijkheid als iets spiritueels. Iets wat van haarzelf is. Niet hoe anderen ernaar kijken of erover denken. Zij is de transitie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:1em 0;font-size:18px;line-height:1.5em;font-family:Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5;margin:0em\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:1em 0;font-size:18px;line-height:1.5em;font-family:Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5;margin:0em\">Deze sc\u00e8ne is zo goed omdat die aangeeft dat we zelfs in een verhaalvorm bedenken wat mannelijk of vrouwelijk is. Wat de man aantrekkelijk vindt in de vrouw en andersom. Maar als een geboren man denkt dat die een vrouw wil worden, gaan we er al bijna automatisch vanuit dat deze persoon de volledige switch maakt naar alles wat vrouwelijk is. Maar Jules stelt haar eigen lichaam en identiteit ter discussie. Voor wie doet ze die volledige transformatie? Ze doet het dus niet voor wat de maatschappij vrouwelijk vindt. Maar wat ze zelf vrouwelijk vindt. Waarom vinden we het nog steeds een gek idee dat zangeres Anouk verschillende vaders van haar kinderen heeft? Waarom doet een scheiding van een huwelijk zoveel pijn voor de familie? Waarom hebben we er nog steeds moeite mee als een persoon verschillende bedpartners in een maand tijd heeft? Of een relatie met meerdere personen tegelijk? Of mensen in een polyamoreuze relatie \u00e9\u00e9n baby willen opvoeden? Of dat je maar een baan tegelijkertijd mag hebben. Wellicht in de liefde monogaam en tot de dood bij dezelfde persoon. Je kan worden wie je wil zijn of worden wat anderen van je verwachten. Er is geen &#8216;echte&#8217; jij. We spelen altijd een rol. We zijn altijd een verwachting of wijken daar bewust van af. We staan continu onder invloed van onze omgeving. Ze accepteren ons masker of niet. Dat bepaalt in het verhaal hoe we ons voelen. Hoe we onszelf zouden omschrijven.
