Het is het uitgangspunt van de serie <em>Breaking Bad<\/em>. Ik heb dit jaar de serie voor het eerst nog een keer bekeken, maar ditmaal achter elkaar. Voorheen zag ik braaf van elk seizoen elke week weer de nieuwste aflevering op tv of via het internet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Goed. <em>Breaking Bad<\/em>. Als je het niet kent: Walter White voelt zich een loser. De liefde van zijn leven Gretchen is er met zijn beste vriend Elliott vandoor gegaan lang geleden. Gekrenkt door liefdesverdriet liet hij zich uitkopen in het bedrijfje dat hij met Elliott had opgericht. Dat bedrijfje is nu miljarden waard. Inmiddels is Walter getrouwd met Skyler, hij heeft een zoon met een hersenbeschadiging en zijn vrouw is zwanger van de tweede. Hij kan zich laten behandelen voor de longkanker. Maar als hij sterft, blijft zijn familie achter met de hoge medische kosten. Die is inmiddels getrouwd met Gretchen. Er zit een diepe pijn in hem verborgen. Dat idee dat hij niets is en niets kan. Terwijl hij tegelijkertijd beseft hoe intelligent hij is. Hoeveel potentie zijn leven had, maar die er nooit is uitgekomen. Hij voelt zich te trots om zich te laten helpen. Hij heeft een beter plan bedacht. Met dat geld betaalt hij zijn kankerbehandeling en bouwt hij een geldbuffer op om aan zijn familie achter te laten als hij sterft.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Hij begint een partnerschap met Jesse Pinkman. Een oud-leerling van hem. Jesse en Walter komen voor heftige dilemma&#8217;s te staan. Deals aangaan met onberekenbare drugsdealers. Een ander doden om zelf te overleven. Zijn familie is zijn alles. Maar de leugens die hij gebruikt, zijn persoonlijkheid die langzaam verandert in die van een psychopaat&#8230; Er ontstaat een steeds grotere kloof tussen zijn familie en hem. Tussen wie hij was en wie hij wil zijn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Op verschillende momenten in de serie kan hij eruit stappen. Genoeg geld verdiend. Een goede reputatie opgebouwd als de beste drugsmaker van het continent met een drug die zo puur is, een waar geen enkele andere drugskok aan kan tippen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Maar Walter White wil meer. Het is niet goed genoeg. Hij raakt verslaafd aan de macht. Hij manipuleert, hij moordt, hij smeedt complotten en sust zijn geweten met: ik doe het voor mijn familie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Het laatste seizoen ontspoort Walter extreem. Het is niet leuk meer om te kijken naar wie hij is geworden. Gelukkig komt hij in de laatste afleveringen van de serie tot het inzicht dat iedereen om hem heen al had: hij deed het niet voor zijn familie. Hij deed het vooral voor zichzelf. Hij was er goed in. Hij genoot er zelfs van. Alleen hij beseft ook: hij heeft de levens van tientallen mensen verwoest. Niet alleen dat: zijn familie wil niets meer met hem te maken hebben.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">De kanker is teruggekomen en vreet hem op. Al het verdiende geld kan hij onmogelijk aan zijn familie achterlaten. Hij weet dat hij niet lang meer heeft. Hij weet dat hij Jesse Pinkman moet redden van een aantal neonazi&#8217;s. En hij heeft nog een laatste strohalm om wellicht toch via een omweg geld achter te laten aan zijn zoon, dochter en vrouw. Dus hij komt in actie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Ik kom woorden tekort om te omschrijven hoe goed deze serie is en hoe bevredigend de finale aanvoelt. Los van de gave shots hoe ze drugs maken, de spannende actiescenes en zwarte humor, is het thema perfect uitgewerkt in de vijf seizoenen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Hoe een goedzak de slechterik wordt. In 2015 begon de spin-off met de advocaat van Walter White: Saul Goodman. We zien zijn leven v\u00f3\u00f3r hij Walter en Jesse ontmoette.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Ook een fantastische serie. Al is deze heel anders van toon: langzamer, minder gewelddadig, menselijker en ook tragischer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Ik moet zeggen dat ik <em>Better Call Saul<\/em> beter vind dan <em>Breaking Bad<\/em>. Maar dat is puur mijn persoonlijke smaak. Saul is een tragisch karakter dat worstelt om een goede advocaat te worden. Zijn complexe relatie met zijn succesvolle broer (en ook advocaat) zit hem enorm in de weg. Saul wil wel, maar diep in hem zit nog dat straatschoffie dat al liegend en manipulerend zijn zin kreeg. Een zwendelaar pur sang. Zes seizoenen lang zien we hoe de onzekere Jimmy (de echte naam van Saul) transformeert in zijn alter ego Saul Goodman. De gekke malafide advocaat met cringy one liners en hilarische reclamespots, die iedere slechterik koste wat het kost uit de gevangenis probeert te houden met z&#8217;n gladde praatjes. Jimmy wil geen loser zijn en wil de goedkeuring van zijn broer krijgen. Saul weet dat hij de loser is en dat doet hem niets meer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0em; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; font-family: Arial,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Dat is de grote transformatie in de serie.
